Stephen Roper

Guitarist/ Singer/ Songwriter/ Performer/ Music Tutor

Stephen Roper is a professional musician with over fifteen years of experience performing, composing and tutoring. The guitar is where his musical journey began at the age of thirteen. This quickly followed by discovering he could sing and the rest is rock 'n' roll history!

Since finishing a popular and contemporary music course at Watford College, Stephen has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience with his guitar playing, singing and performing at various venues around the UK.

In December 2019 Stephen, his wife and his Yamaha travel guitar went on a six month trip to New Zealand and Australia. This was the perfect opportunity for Stephen to focus fully on his solo performing.

Stephen took every opportunity to perform at open mic nights, jam with other musicians and hone his skills busking. All this experience allowed Stephen to expand his repertoire and enhanced his skills playing guitar, singing solo and performing as part of a band.

Stephen continues to expand his repertoire, performing at venues around the UK. He also writes his own music and is currently working on an album due for release in 2021.

Lyrics

Heard You Calling

It's been a day full of regret

With every moment I just want to forget

I'm counting the seconds I have left to the start of a brand new day

Can I talk to you

That's all I really want to do

How did we start off so well in the beginning, but ended in such a bad way

Woh ho ho... I thought I heard you calling

I wait for you to call but nothing comes my way

Woh ho ho... I thought I heard you calling

I think about you every single passing day

I suffer a long, sleepless night

Thinking through all the wrongs I would put right

All these feelings and doubts I have I struggle to fight

Should I give up on us now

I'm not sure if I really know how

I shold just walk away, forget you and never return

Woh ho ho... I thought I heard you calling

I wait for you to call but nothing comes my way

Woh ho ho... I thought I heard you calling

I think about you every single passing day

As the night turns into day

I'm feeling better in every single way

For once in my life I feel free, I don't need you anymore, I've moved on

There's more to life than what we had

And things can easily change from good to bad

I'm making the most of the time I have left and I will never look back

Woh ho ho... I thought I heard you calling

I wait for you to call but nothing comes my way

Woh ho ho... I thought I heard you calling

I think about you every single passing day

I heard you calling... I heard you calling

I heard you call...

Best Night Of Our Lives

When I'm with you I know I'll always be

The best I've ever felt in your company

'Cause I feel so alive when I'm standing by you side

And tonight will be the best night of our lives

I look into your eyes and hope you feel the same way as I do

I hope it's not too much to ask of you

'Cause I know this is right when I look at you and I

And tonight will be the best night of our lives

I know I will be... Waiting impatiently

From the last time I'll have seen you, 'til the next time I'll be near you

That would be the worst night of my life

I feel so empty without you

When I'm with you I'm full of life it's true

Now you've opened my eyes and turned my darkness into light

And tonight will be the best night of our lives

'Cause tonight is our night, it's a night that feels so right

And tonight will be the best night of our live's

Waiting For Tomorrow

It started off so promising for most of us this year

We had our share of problems, but we didn't live in fear

Now our lives have changed and our future is unclear

We're just waiting for tomorrow to come

Nothing is as simple as it used to be

Isolated from the world, friends and family

At least one thing is clear; we're all together in this mess

We're just waiting for tomorrow to come

Just waiting for answer, A way to leave all this behind

Just waiting for an answer, Waiting for the time

When this is all a memory

I am hopeful for the future, that's the only way to be

An end to all these problems is the only path I see

Moving on and getting through the day is what we need

We're just waiting for tomorrow to come

Waiting for tomorrow to come

I don't care how long it takes

Until then we'll carry on

We're just waiting for tomorrow to come
